Fukuoka-san

Although perhaps just the empty dream of a farmer who has sought in vain to return to nature and the side of God, I wish to become the sower of seed. Nothing would give me more joy than to meet others of the same mind.

Spain

In Spain we walked into a courtyard in the middle of which was what must have been a very old community drinking fountain. These were to be found regularly in public areas. I stepped in a nasty pile of dog crap on the way into the square, and I attempted to clean my shoe in the fountain. I felt bad to do this in a drinking fountain, but not bad enough to stop. After I cleaned my shoe, we visited an entomologist's taxidermy outfit. I don't remember his being there, but his collection was. Gigantic insects from New Guinea, the land of Gigantic Insects. Big beetles. Everything under glass, everything dead. But still interesting. Food for the mind.
